Hey! I'm back from an obnoxious long hiatus. I thought I'd throw out one of my old reviews since, I am neck deep in other review writings right now. I hope you enjoy! Missed you all <3
I always see a lot of love when it comes to the BH Cosmetics palettes and products, I decided that I would try some of the more matte palettes since, I typically only own one so, it was well overdue.
While I was browsing the BH website I saw that this palette was on sale and I instantly fell in love with it. It was also dirt cheap, for $12 I got 28 shades which are in a pretty big sized pan so I couldn't pass it up. (It also made my shipping cheaper but, don't worry ;) )
The colours themselves are definitely ones that I see myself going for a lot as they're typically the usual colours I use for my everyday makeup. The sad thing is, is that I've had this palette for 2 weeks and I still haven't experimented with it! Writing this review now and staring at it is flooding so many ideas through my head I can see myself using it a lot more actually.
The texture of these shadows range from Chalky to Buttery. There's no in between. Although, these shades are rather pigmented. They're soft to these touch and the only ones I have really had a negative view on are the more lighter shades. Which really aren't pigmented and are very chalky and have to be buildable to be opaque.
Onto the Palette itself.
This Palette is a mix of colours, it's such a weird combination of colours but, it still works. The first row is all nude shades, mainly bases or transitioning shades for the crease. I do use the white as a Highlight occasionally and the dark brown to darken up my crease and you can actually pull quite a gorgeous natural smokey eye with the first row alone.
The second row is filled with more orange based neutrals. The burnt orange, the warm taupe and the light browns are the ones I am so excited to wear! The burnt orange is probably my favourite colour in this palette alone. Throw me a XL single of if.
the 3rd row is more pink tones. There's a vibrant hot pink, a subtle light pink and a dark purple. I can see myself wearing these colours quite a lot during the summer time as they're so vibrant and add a lot of colour into the look. The dark purple is gorgeous and so is the hot pink. I actually used them other as a blush before and they work really well.
The last row is filled with greens, blues and dark colours. This is where the pop of colour is and adds the "odds" to this palette. At the very right it starts with a green, this kind of reminds me of Acidberry by Sugarpill in the sense that it isn't a bright green, it's more of a washed out green? next is a teal blue colour, kind of like the colour Mochi. The only dissapointing shade in this row is the light blue, the pigment isn't that good and it feels dry when you swatch it. The rest are dark matte browns and blacks which, can be used as crease colours and smokey eye must haves.
Is this palette worth it? I would say yes if you're new to makeup or trying to add more colours into your looks. For £8.99 this palette is a must have in a collection that lacks colours.
